Nancy never noticed until recently that there were so many undesirable people in her neighborhood. She began to feel especially harassed by a small group of young men that often gathered on the corner near her apartment.
One hot summer evening she returned home late. She noticed that her air-conditioner did not work. So she dislodged it and left the window ajar for the fresh, cooling air. That evening she was awoken by a man that was already on top of her. He told her if she cooperated nothing would happen to her, but if she fought or screamed he would kill her. That man finally rapped Nancy.
Several days later, Nancy moved out of that apartment. She had not been alone since the attack, and despite being in a secure apartment, she could not relax long enough to fall asleep. She would frequently get up and check to make sure that the windows and doors were locked. Even though they were, she continued to engage in this ritual every night for several weeks.
Eventually Nancy found it difficult to concentrate on her job, or to even connect with her co-workers. Frequently she would become easily agitated and lash out at her colleagues for the slightest comment which she might find 'offensive.' She became detached from her friends and co-workers and was increasingly dissatisfied with her work. Eventually she quit her job.

  2. Disorder?
  3. Treatment? (Yes, she needs some - we all would.)
